Virtual Laboratory Based On The Virtual Machine Operating System And Realization

Operating system principle is one of the core course for the department of computer science as well as the core subject to the software field. But because of the limitation of the experiment conditions and the characteristic of operating system, the traditional experiment way is theorization and static, so it is hard to do the experiment effectively for the student. This is a popular difficult to the teaching of operating system.By considering virtual laboratory technology, education psychics, characteristic of operating system, software architecture theory, this paper puts forward an idea that building an operating system virtual laboratory based on a virtual computer system. For this, the paper introduce the concept of virtual machine,which is the hot study subject now, to the virtual laboratory, and implement a virual machine system(CSU Virtual Machine CSU_VM) as the core hardware platform of the virtual computer system, and implement a CPU scheduler algorithm model as the core software platform of the virtual computer system. At last the paper implement a WEB-Baesed operating system virtual laboratory baesd on the virtual computer system.The paper has some study values in two aspects. First, in the near future, the OS virtual laboratory provides the student a excellent OS experiment circumstance, which is consistent with the constructivism theory. Second, in the far fiiture, the paper built a core open framework of a virtual computer system,by which the further study can keep going on. Eventually, the thoughts and way described in this paper are a successful, innovative attempt in the OS virtual laboratory field.
