Embedded system is the combo of advanced computer technology, semiconductor technology, electronic technology and concrete application in various domain. In recent years, embedded products has become the mainstream of IT, more and more corporations and R&D organization turn their steps to the design and application of embedded system.The purpose of this project is to design an embedded development platform based on ARM microprocessor which exercise the research method of software/hardware co-design and accomplish a majority of underlayer jobs for application program designers. At first, this thesis depicts the process of hardware design based on S3C44B0X development board which mainly consists of power module, MCU kernel module, memory module, I/O modules, net module, JTAG and system extending module. A multifunction JTAG debugger is implemented by CPLD and hardware debug is achieved with the help of ARM SDT; Secondly, introduces the transplant of embedded OS. Principally aiming at the VxWorks of Wind River Systems, Inc., BSP for S3C44B0X is customized and the generating and loading methods of BootRom Image and VxWorks Image is explained in detail; In the end, the thesis trys some practice on the platform, which serves as floor machine in the hotel room control system.Via iterative debug and test, the whole platform now has achieved expected goal and is preparing to put into production as floor machine.
