The national field observation stations are important component of basic scientific research in China. They have provided a lot of substantial, direct and comprehensive information. However, those observation stations belong to different departments. Influenced by the different phases of the data management system, technical factors etc., the information systems of those observation stations always use different technical and architecture which lead to heterogeneous state of information and isolated data. To make full use of valuable data resources, building a system for data sharing becomes a priority. The shortcomings of the old technologies in data sharing include of lacking uniform standards, high platform dependence and heavy system coupling. This dissertation not only discusses the difficulty in the data share and corresponding theory, but also analyses the technical features of XML and soap. XML has emerged as the standard of Internet language. Now, XML is continually applied to domain of data share because it is self-description, open, extensible and platform independency. SOAP is independent of platform and can implement exchange of information between heterogeneous systems in Internet. Then, a framework is designed for implementing data share in heterogeneous system based on XML and SOAP. This dissertation introduces the architecture, working process and every module function of the framework. Finally, the framework is applied in the key national field observation station project, which aims at implementing data share between different field observation stations.
