Product Data Management Research during the Collaborative Design With the development of CAD collaborative technology and the wide use of its productiondata management in computer aided design, for the larger projects ,only all kinds of knowledge andexperience which designers accumulated be used participate in design and management, can itcreate more valuable product. The elder single-user version of CAD couldn't satisfy the designer'srequirements. During design, designers need communicate with each other and share the resource,for fear to make data inconsistent and repeated design. Computer Support Cooperative Design(CSCD) can resolve the problem effectively. One CSCD system affords a computer environment,with this environment two or more designers utilized the common function of CAD as usual,accomplished the cooperative manipulation. Integrating CAD cooperative design technologies andproduct data management technology in Designment can improve the working condition, acceleratethe development of design model and transform the data manage pattern, at the same time it canenhance work efficiency. This research focuses on the application of CSCD and PDM in Architectural creativeconception design. By sufficiently comprehend the process of design;we apply CSCD and PDMtechnology to building facade creative-design. We discussed the system structure and some keytechnology in details and presents an architecture cooperative creative-design Correspondingintegrated system, which based on Hoops/Net, PDM and other more technology in CSCD. Themain research work and achievements are as follows:1.The implementation of real-time synchronal cooperative working condition: According tothe characteristics of collaborative design, combining the powerful graphics interface ofHoops/3D ,Hoops/Net technology with creative concept-design system , we discussed the keyproperty and technology in building such a model ,and carry out a real-time effective collaborativedesign-space which support peer to peer web service and proposed a distribute-cooperative workmodel, then applied this into the architecture"Creative Design software components and thecorresponding integrated system."2. The cooperation arrangement of this integrative design system: with the achievement ofcollaborative design based on the architecture creative design corresponding integrated system , weembedded the cooperative function in all creative design algorithmic and module to extend thesystem's innovation administrate and components cooperatively function. In such a way, designbecome easily than normal CAD or other creative design system and the collaborative increase thecreative design efficiency greatly.3. Flexible transmission mechanism of network data: We put forward and designed anopening self-define network data message format for the real-time transmission. The format oftransmission is alterable, and the length of data is unlimited, both of them can enhance thetransmitting capability. These opening self-define data structure is the key ingredient about the datatransmitting, storaging of network database, the network collaborative view, edit, design dataredisplay and the PDM of collaborative design.4. Product data management function: During the building facade design, collaborativecreative designs require furthermore graphics database management. We utilized the productstructure trees technologies, work out a PDM system to support the collaborative-design and comanagement. In addition, we gave a series of strategy about innovation evaluating and qualitativeassessment before saved into the network production database.
