Infrared data communication is a wireless technique for short-range communication. It implements point-to-point data transmission through the near infrared rays.The wavelength is 850nm~900nm.The transmitting distance is 0~lm and the angular range is 30°illumination cone. Nowadays the data rate has already reached 16Mbps.Infrared transceiver is a product of this communication, which has a lot of advantages such as low cost, convenient connecting and application, compact structure, fast transmission speed, and so on. Therefore it gets comprehensive application in the portable equipments. However, there is still no product on our own design interiorly.The main tasks of the subject are analysis of an import transceiver which could transmit data at 115.2kbps and redesign of the chip of infrared transmitting and receiving integrated circuit, taping out by BiCMOS technology and testing. This is experience and preview for the design of a transceiver in the future.The article is divided into five chapters. The first chapter briefly introduces the infrared data communication and an infrared transceiver. The second chapter gives analysis of a transceiver HSDL-3201.The third chapter supply redesign of the chip on basis of former analysis. The fourth chapter includes the test of the taped out chip named SB3201. The last chapter gives design in the structure of the infrared transmitting and receiving integrated circuit. At last there is a brief review and prospect of the total thesis.
