The Design And Realization Of The BACnet/IrDA Gateway In The Smart Home Control Center

Since appeared in the 1980s, the intelligent house, nowadays, has a dramatic growth through the twenty years development, and there are kinds of protocols and products appeared in the world, which are compatible with each other. So it is an insistent problem to establish a uniform communication protocol stood by all manufacturers to get a standard integration of sub-systems in buildings. BACnet is a data communication protocol for building automation control networks. The prime purpose of BACnet is to provide an interoperation method for building automation control system. Manufacturers develop equipments and interfaces compatible with building control networks according to this standard. And all equipments from different manufacturers can exchange data under BACnet.HI2C (Home Intelligent Control Center), empolderd by us, is a control system of the intelligent house, which is based on the BACnet protocol. The red subsystem, which is an important part of the HI2C system, provided the function of the local control which is based on the infrared. Used the subsystem, people can interact the desire with the intelligent house, and control the equipment of the house.This paper, at the beginning, introduces the development of the intelligent house, and research the development of the BACnet protocol and the IrDA protocol, which are used in the paper, in the chapter 1. Following, the BACnet protocol and the IrDA protocol are analyzed in the chapter 2, especially the object of the BACnet protocol and the link protocol of the IrDA protocol and the phycial protocol of the IrDA protocol. In the chapter 3, a solution of the BACnet/IrDA gateway is given, and this solution is realized in the chapter 4. Through the test in the chapter 5, the function and the capability of the BACnet/IrDA gateway has been confirmed.Finally, the paper summarizes the work in the end, analyses the limitation of the gateway and gives some specific advice, which paves well the way for the next development and realization of the IR subsystem in smart house based on BACnet.
