Research And Application Of The Efficiency Of Large Software Systems Based On Network Measurements

With the development of computer technology and society progress, the IT systems has been developed into large B/S or C/S-patterned application systems based on network, far away from the early single-computer systems. The basic feature of this kind of systems is that the server offers service to hundreds of thousands of customers at the same time, as can be seen from Electronic Commerce, Online bank and so on. But the ever-increasing application business makes the system payload gets heavier. So it directly affects the service quality of enterprise if the system can not meet the ever-increasing payload requirement. Based on the accuracy of business logic function, the software efficiency is taken more notice as an important feature of software quality. Software measurement is the key to increase software quality and is inseparable with software quality.The focus of this paper is on the measuring method of efficiency characteristics on network-based large application system based on the current software quality characteristics. The paper gives a series of suitable efficient models about the efficiency measurement of large network-based application system to the problems of software efficiency measurement. The model describes the measuring process of software efficiency and the measuring technology of software efficiency on large network-based application system. The measuring methods mainly describe the methods and strategy of the test requirement analysis, the system analysis, the selecting of test method, the design of test strategy, the estimation of test strength, the analysis of test result and so on. Through an actual test of an instance , the paper gives the instructions of using the model and some suggestions on the applying of software efficiency measuring on large network-based application system, including the description of system configuration, the preparation for the test data, the design and execution of the test plan, etc. The validity of the models have been proved by the instance.
