With the rapidly development of national economy, aluminium products are urgent need. As the raw material of aluminium production, aluminium oxide is also lacking. Most aluminium oxide manufacturers are researching methods that improve the productivity. In such factories, low efficiency and security exist in assaying and measuring data management, which block the improvement of productivity. To solve the problem, a comprehensive management and data sharing system with high performance, high reliability and high security is developed. And a new data conversion algorithm is used in the system to perform efficient data conversion between databases of management system and process control systems.Assaying and measuring data management are presently recorded on paper reports, and issued by intercommunication telephone. To change the present status, a management and sharing system based on large-scale database and C/S&B/S mixed pattern is put forwarded in the paper. Management and issuing of assaying and measuring data are implemented in B/S pattern part; data accessing from other systems and conversion between systems are managed by C/S pattern module. B/S pattern part is constructed on a distributed platform-J2EE. An optimized IDEF1X model is designed to meet the requirement in speed, reliability and expandability. Complete layering, special data layer encapsulation, excellent third-part package are adopted in the system, which guarantee the system's functionality and safety.Aiming at data conversion between heterogeneous databases, a conversion algorithm based on XML is researched in the paper. XML is used to represent intermediate data and mapping rules in the new algorithm for relation model data conversion. Data conversion based on XML is applied in assaying and measuring data conversion, overcome the shortage of straightforward conversion, accomplish the conversion commendably.The mostly accomplished tasks are finally summarized in the paper, some improvable aspects are put forwards and further research to improve the system are presented.
