Study And Operation Of Campus Net Topology Discovery Based On SNMP

The rapid development and widespread application of net technology makes it urgent for increasing number of net-users to pay great attention to the safety, stability and credibility of net. Thus, the net management with high quality is attached great importance to by researchers. As the relation between nodes , Topology is the base of the operation with high efficiency of net management system, which urges us to find a more effective way to discover the net topology.This article introduces the basic concept and working principle of SNMP backed on university campus net and puts forward the proper topology discovery for the research which enables to realize the auto-discovery of backbone topology with three switchboards, to propose a new algorithm for auto-discovery of link level operation and to analyze the dumb-device discovery.The system was operated at campus net of Anhui Institute of Architecture & Industry and performed well as it was designed.
