Based On Cmm Bug Test Tracking And Management System Design And Implementation

Content:The thesis, discussing the basic idea of Capability Maturity Module of software (CMM), has a detail introduction of several important KPAs of CMM2 degree based on the system of bug test tracking management system, which is developed and used when the R&D of software project enters the test phase in the author's company. Based on the introduction, the idea of design idea, the method of realization and the effect of using are discussed.Guiding by Capability Maturity Module of software (CMM), bug test tracking management system has created a complete flow and criterion of test and edition management. The thesis emphasizes the bug test management flow, edition of publication flow and test flow, bug rank standard of integrated importance, calculating method of integrated importance value and so on. All these are made for the conditions of the author's company. During the process of bug test management flow and criterion design, the requirements of CMM2, CMM3 and CMM4 degree are the main reference. The system, which is developed on the platform of Clear Quest, has realized the unification of C/S and B/S. The user can perform all the functions of the system by using client program or browser.The management flow and criterion and the management system has been tested on all software project management in the author's company. The result shows that it make the test more visible and traceable during the test phase of software project while, at the same time ,all the personnel on management can exactly know the situation of the R&D of software project via various statistics. Therefore, it provides the means to make the management of the software project measurable and greatly improves the management efficiency while accumulates the infrastructure data for the later software process improvement and offers a tool for analysis.With the introduction in the thesis, we will know how to realize a practical system of bug test tracking management and other mid-sized and small software companies are provided with more reference during the process of improving the Capability Maturity Module of software (CMM). The system is also having continuing development to be a perfect one during the usage to adapt itself to the changes of the R&D environment and idea of the company. I hope the bug test tracking management system become a indispensable and useful tool for the programmers, testers and personnel of management during the process of the software project development to play and important rule in the improvement of the quality f software.
