Pda And Gps-based Embedded Mobile Patrol Line Management Applications And Research

The work to cruise lines of electricity transmission,lines of long-distance communication and pipelines of petroleum or gas is necessary and important for safe production. But the traditional work to cruise is onerous and not efficient. Meanwhile , workers to cruise these lines miss some points frequently because of the lack of efficient supervisal . The paper's research purpose is to achieve the real-time display of geography information in mobile environment by making use of the Embedded GIS, GPS and PDA.These methods and techniques applied to the line-cruising work will overcoming the weaknesses of the above traditional line-cruising methods .The system can guarantee line-cruisers must arrive the position of checkpoints through comparing position data calculated by GPS signals with the position data stored in database.Moreover,the system can remind the line-cruiser about the information of the checkpoints which haven't been checked .After the cruiser's coming back,the manager will examine the cruising information before storing it into database center .All these methods can avoid that some checkpoints are missed to be checked ,availably guarantee the normal work and the safe production . At first ,the thesis analyzes the present research , technique background, characteristics and applications of the embedded GIS. Then ,as an instance for line-cruising manage system based on the PDA&GPS,the central portion of the electricity transmission linecruising system,such as system analysis,system design, The encoding implementation of the main subsystems…etc. is described .Finally , through the objective analysis to the system, the paper brings forward some unsettled problems and the aims for improvement.
