Since the 1990st, the VR technology has been the hot spot in the research,development and application of the IT area.It builds a virtual world that is almost true to life, which can also bring the users real experience. Now it has been extensively adopted in many areas, for example, in the military, the VISC, the education and training, the design, the visual test, the visual tour, shopping,interactive amusement, project and the scientific exploration,.etc.As an important branch of the VR technology, the virtual cruising technology gets a rapid development in many industries, such as the architecture, the tourism, the game, the aerospace and aviation and the medicine. It all owes to its distinguishing feature of 31, immersion-interaction-imagination, with which the fixed cruising technology bears no comparison.The purpose of the study in this subject is to design and achieve some virtual campusprototype system,which is based on the study of some key method for virtual reality technology.The author of this thesis focuses on the study of the scene modeling and the interactive technology on the basis of the summary and analysis of the existing research results throughout the research of this subject.Furthermore,based on system of VRML and 3D MAX,the Virtual campus prototype system of Ocean University of China Qingdao College has been achieved.The approach of the study and the results are as the follows:1.To realize object modeling of virtual scene by adopting such techniques asVRML,3D MAX and Java,and to strengthen the authenticity by the application of texture pasting technique,and to optimize the management of the large-scale scene through the techniques of multilevel detailed model(LOD)and prototype packaging joints.2.Deeply analyzed and studied the technology of the virtual scene interactive.Using the 18-DOP collision algorithm to solve the checking problem of collided interferes among moving objects which occurs in the scene roaming process,strengthened the third dimension in the roaming process.To realize the interactive function of hypothesized campus system by the research of non-programming and the programming.3.A virtual campus prototype system was achieved based on the study of the above algorithm.The correctness of the algorithm has been proved by the testing data,and the preconcerted target of the study was basically achieved.The study of this thesis shall be helpful in improving and perfecting relevant theory and method of Virtual Reality Technology,and shall be significant for others'reference for the study and development of the virtual roaming system with similar scales.
