Wcdma Core Network, Hlr Accepted The Design And Implementation Of The Taiwan Module

WCDMA is one of the most important technologies of the third generation mobile communication system, which can provide unified system used in the whole world, support such services as packet data and media transactions and provide the required band.HLR refers to Home Location Register which is a basic functional unit in WCDMA mobile communication core network system. It is used for the storage of the users' data including the users' service profile, location information and activity status. And also, HLR provides the data management to the users.HLR Agent is a client which mainly completes the operations such as subscriber authentication, number allocation, subscriber deletion, services subscription and changing of SIM card or number, etc. With HLR server and HLR physical database, it composes three-tiered structure of DB application. It's GUI interface, in charge of sending request of accessing physical DB to HLR server, which in the format of MML command. It displays the operation result returned from HLR server which responses the request to operate physical DB.This thesis firstly explains the main technical characteristics of the WCDMA system, introduces the structure of the core network, version from UMTS-R99 to UMTS-R5, and also analyses the design principle and system structure of HLR subsystem. This provides the background concepts at system level for building HLR Agent module solution. This paper elaborates the functions of module on system and service, and the application of three-tiered structure and MML command in design. About the implementation of system functions, it focuses on the basic flows of starting, configuration data obtaining and command sending. In the last of the paper, the implementation of user profile, subscriber query, authentication and number allocation are specific described.
