Secondary Vocational Schools, Computer Courses Cooperative Learning Experiments

As the importance of computer teaching is gradually valued by the whole society in recent years, computer teaching, as a compulsory course, is making itself into vocational schools. But many Vocational computer teachers still follow the traditional teaching models, and they haven't given enough attention to features of computer teaching and students' applied competences also haven't put into fully practice.This thesis aims to explore the influence of Vocational students on computer study by implementing cooperative learning, at the same time, it is commonly thought that cooperative learning has great influence on communicative competence and communicative apprehension, which is also determined as the important content in my thesis.The experiment was carried out at the Hebei Commercial and Technical School for four months (Sep,2004--Dec,2004) . Two classes of Computer major in Grade 2004 were chosen. One was the experimental class taught by cooperative approaches and the other was control class taught by traditional way. Texas Social Behavior Inventory (TSBI) and Personal Report of Communication Apprehension (PRCA—24), which is to test communicative competence and communicative apprehension, were given to both classes at the beginning and end of experiment respectively. Test papers that were compiled according to National Computer Rank Examination were employed to check computer theory knowledge and operating skills of students, and compared the results from a few angles.Conclusion is made at the end of thesis on the basis of detailed analysis about influence on cooperative learning through communicative apprehension, person-to-person communicative competences, computer theory knowledge and operating skills: cooperative learning is suitable for the processes of computer teaching and learning at Vocational Schools, and...
