With the rapid development of network and computer science, informationtechnology plays a more and more important role in many fields of the human being, such as politics, economy, military, technology and culture. Information technology isan important innovation and progress during last century. It represents the latestachievement and level of science and technology. Accompanying the rapiddevelopment of network all over the world, more and more information mediums suchas database and information system are entering in human society, which has madeInternet become the most abundant and sweeping database of the world. However, the information isn't all of good to us for its large quantity. In the1990s', the amount of data of many kinds of organization has grown quickly. So howto retrieve useful knowledge from the large amount of data becomes an urgent issuefor many scientists. Recently, data mining technology has abstracted the interest ofmany researchers. This paper explores data mining from the IT perspective, providing a quickoverview of data mining technology, technical challenges and solutions forimplementing successful data mining projects. The paper includes sections on: whatexactly is data mining; data mining in the business world; what data mining can do foryour business; the difference between OLAP and data mining; how data mining works;the data mining process; the relationship between data mining and data warehousing;data mining challenges; how to get started with data mining. To solve this problem, marketers and business analysts use data-miningtechniques. These are machine learning algorithms that find buried patterns indatabases, and report or act on those findings. There are many data-mining techniques, and it's difficult for one person to understand the entire field. The best we can do inone article is to provide an introduction to the problems that data-mining techniquescan solve, mention the techniques usually applied to those problems, and give some...
