A bank, a kind of data-intensive enterprise, produces thousands of business operation data routinely which leads to a huge amount of information resource. How to handle and utilize these immaterial asset and bring them into positive use is one of most importance ways for a bank to increase its ability to compete with colleague banks. With the reform of business operation concept, management strategy as well as the development of information technology, bank's information development steps into a brand new stage. Data Warehouse technology comes to be an essential and indispensable tool for business operation analysis and management decision making of a bank. Nowadays, the data warehouse technology has been gradually employed by the state-owned Industrial & Commercial Bank of China (ICBC). Because of the insufficient understanding of data warehouse technology, such technology has not been intensively engaged in routine business. Therefore, extensive and thorough and exploration understanding of the mechanism and application of data warehouse technology become more and more important to improve the information system of a bank.This thesis, concentrating the analysis of the application status technology, facing the real business operation of banks, intensively explains the principle of Data Warehouse Technology and its practical construction procedure. Taking the analysis of loan recovery, personnel credit and contribution during personal loans business as an example, based on SQL Analysis Service platform, we simulate a complete construction procedure for a data warehouse system, and successfully realize its application development and analysis with EXCEL.
