As the next important area of information and IT development - EIP (Enterprise Information Portal) are starting to provide "separate but equal" access to unstructured data, distributed application systems and various enterprises' resources from one unified portal. This unified portal can provide different user access distributed messages and applications at any time through the customizable interface. The XML Web Service technologies are emerging as a new approach for supporting EAI (Enterprise Application Integration). By providing access to heterogeneous resources, integration of software and applications over the internet, the Web Service are increasingly used to expose functionalities of systems. From these two trends above, this paper describes an approach to build an EIP for the traditional manufacture enterprise with the technique of the XML Web Service and ASP.NET. In this paper, the Web Service technique is used to build up the internet/intranet used applications at the functions of ordering, accounting and after-sales service management. With the help of ASP.NET, the Service is integrated into one unified portal, and provides a series of technologies such as SSO (single sign on), inherent security, user personalization, data search and navigation, etc. Combining with the application service intergradations, our portal not only gives an end-to-end management of each data or business but also gives an effective solution of data transform secure and user personalization configuration. This portal solution has been implemented in the marketing company of a construction machinery group. It not only brings visibility and flexibility response at the after-service business between the supplier and customers, but also greatly reduced the investment of enterprise's IT at changing of the business.
