The subject of this paper comes from the science research project"System Architecture for the Enterprise of Survey & Design Based on SOA", which is one of the National Science & Technology Pillar Program during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan Period.Nowadays, as the number of Web Services increases on the Internet, the number of Web services with the same or similar functions are also increasing. However, there often are a set of services which meet the functionality needs of the consumers after the service discovery. Therefore, it needs a method to make further selections after the procedure of service discovery.Currently, there are two kinds of service selection methods. The first one is a selection method based on non-function properties, which is also called Quality of Service (QoS) , but it does not consider the credibility and dynamic changes of QoS. The other selection method is based on the users' feedbacks. This method solved some problems in the first one, but it does not consider the objectiveness of the feedbacks.In order to solve these problems in service selection, it presented a Web service selection based on QoS and reputation model. This model evaluates the Web Service comprehensively from both the objective and subjective aspects, which overcomes the negative effects of objective feedbacks. The proposed method can provide consumers web services with higher satisfactory.This paper mainly accomplished the following tasks:①Analyzed the Service-Oriented Architecture, Web Services technologies, Ontology and Semantic Web services; introduced the concept of Quality of Service (QoS) of Web Service.②Studied two traditional Web services selection methods, which are selection method based on QoS and method based on the user feedbacks; analyzed their advantages and disadvantages.③Proposed a Web services selection method based on QoS and reputation. QoS monitoring model solved the problem of dishonest QoS provided by the service provider; target consumer group model solved the problem in objective feedbacks.④Presented a selection algorithms based on the proposed selection model, improved the selection precision of the service selection. ⑤Verified the performance of the proposed selection method by simulations and experiments.⑥Applied the proposed mechanism in IPTV system and proved its rationality through the practical application.
