The basic principle of the oscillator has been analyzed at first and two kinds of basic models of the oscillator have been introduced in this thesis. A circular function which is used extensively has been derived, and a new circular function formula was given. The linear model of the phase noise of the oscillator has been discussed. The basic principle of phase locked loop (PLL) has been introduced, and the transmission function of the phase noises of every part of PLL has been analyzed. The coupling model of the dielectric resonator (DR) and microstrip has been analyzed in detail, and the band-passed coupling model and the band-stopped coupling model have been discussed separately. The mutual inductance of the equivalent circuit, coupling coefficient, quality factor of the DR and microstrip coupling model have been discussed. Electromagnetic field simulation software and circuit simulation software, such as CST,ADS,Ansoft Designer, the equivalent circuit of lump parameter,function model have been used to analyze the coupling model of the DR and microstrip. The classification of DRO has been recommended and reflecting type DRO, feedback type DRO have been simulated and designed. With the help of the concept of coupling coefficient, four kinds of analysis tools of DR and microstrip coupling model have been used synthetically, and DROs have been succinctly designed with the software. The measurement result of DROs experiment and the simulation result are identical better, and its main performance index has reached the design requirement. The phase noise of the design plan of DRO +PLL has been analyzed. The loop filter has been designed for PLL with CAD. The frequency synthesizer in X-band has been designed.
