In 2002,at the convention on current of Chinese communication technology, experts point out that IC technology is one of hotspot in IT field. The optionally input mode and generally count function make the chip fit for lots of occasions, such as used widely in all kinds of electric iron, kneading seat, parking time alarm, controller of various home wiring. Can offer autotimer and autocontrol at will. Periphery circuit of the chip is simple. We can offer power for the chip by receding the voltage of 220V directly. The chip works in 32768hz frequency. In chip, it can double up voltage, in order to make 4 figures LCD come true. It can set seconds and minutes independently, and have several output modes such as LED, buzzer, 0.25Hz wave, high and low switch of voltage. Design of the chip have gone through several steps: market investigate and the programming of the product empolder; study detailed problem of yielding technics; design the frame of the chip (set down the calendar of the design work); study the systematic structure and modules'circuit of the chip; Verilog HDL for the modules is described; and the functional simulation and synthesis are carried out; validate the design. In the chip, the seven segments LCD of electronic timer are presented. Reduce the current and power consume with the manner of scanning display. Save the hardware resources and improve the reliability base on FPGA characteristic.
