WWW has been the largest repository of knowledge, but the knowledge in it is in chaos and is difficult to use. Web information integration can analyze, filter, integration the Web pages, and provide a unified knowledge overview and a unified access interface, so as to use the web resources efficiently. The technology at the present time is too far to be mature, especially lack of automaticity and intelligence. We introduced the domain ontology into the Web information integration, and try a series of experiments on the automaticity and intelligence based on the domain ontology, and bring out a complete resolvent. We reviewed the history of Information Integration, and summarized the basic theory as well as the classical methods of it. Expatiated the function requirement, classical architecture and the achieve method of WEB Information Integration. Analyzed the new characteristic and new requirements and the key technique contrasted with the tradition Information Integration. Expatiated the basic theory/function and express method, especially analyzed the method of knowledge representation and matching based on the domain ontology. We introduced domain ontologies into the system so as to achieve automaticity and intelligence of it and the procedure of constructing it. Ameliorated the traditional Mediator/Wrapper architecture based on the domain ontology and designed new realization method for some function models. Designed the multi-filed storing and accessing method for the domain ontology and the knowledge matching algorithm based on ontology; proposed the method of data source representing based on the ontology and XML, and realized automatization of data source analyzing; designed the method of constructing/decomposing/optimizing the query and disposing the result of query; invented the new method of the dynamic data source representation and access, making it possible to integration the dynamic data source. We built a prototype system using the methods noted previously. Basing on the prototype system we did lots of experiments. The experiments' result showed that the system works properly.
