Based On C / S Mode, Wap Development Techniques

WAP technology put mobile network ,Internet networkd and local network a company together closely,providing a kind of mobile increment business ,which is independent of network type and running firm as well as terminal terminal equipment.To realilze mobile network,we need such three elements as WAP gateway,WAP information server and WAP mobile terminal.AU these are similar with traditional WWW business,but only WAP supports mobile application and more convenience.As the combination of Internet technology and wireless network technology, WAP technogy undoubtedly not only is representive of a kind of development direction,but also have a promising application foreground as well . Therefore,WAP application development have a great significance.The WAP programming model is based on the WWW programming model with a few enhancements. Adopting theWWW programming model provides several benefits to the application developer community, including a familiarprogramming model, a proven architecture, and the ability to leverage existing tools (e.g., Web servers, XML tools,etc.). Optimisations and extensions have been made in order to match the characteristics of the wireless environment.Wherever possible, existing standards have been adopted or have been used as the starting point for the WAP technology.WAP content and applications are specified in a set of well-known content formats based on the familiar WWW content formats. Content is transported using a set of standard communication protocols based on the WWW communication protocols. The WAP microbrowser in the wireless terminal co-ordinates the user-interface and is analogous to a standard web browser.WAP application is developed with WML.Being different from HTML which is widely used in Internet ,WML is a markup language based on XML and is intended for use in specifying content and user interface for narrowband devices, including cellular phones and pagers.This paper analyses client/server model,and then study some methods and techonogy developing WAP application under it .Furthmore,the paper explain port design model and Web desing model.It is illuminated how to develop WAP dynamic application with such script language as php,asp and jsp,which are popular on server at present .
