| Digital TV had gone out of the lab, and began to enter the era ofindustry. It will replace the analog TV for excellent pictures and thelower bandwidth of a program and bi-directional transports. Manycountries entered into the intense rivalry in this field. Our countryalso wanted to keep pace with developed countries and had made thestrategy of three stage development : DTV was started to broadcast in2003, all Olympic games programs will be broadcasted by digital equipmentin 2008 and the broadcasting of analog television will be ceased in 2015.MPEG-2 transport stream (TS) multiplex equipment plays an important rolein the ATSC standard of America, in the DVB of Europe, in the ISDB ofJapan and in the coming standard of our country. It is widely used interrestrial broadcast, cable broadcast and satellite broadcast of DTV.So, the research and design of it will create huge economic benefit.The MPEG-2 standard was a video and audio compress criterion, whichwas applied widely all over the world. Advanced countries kept ahead ourcountry on it. This standard only defined the decoding model, so, themultiplex equipment can be designed quite freely, on condition that theoutput data was decoded correctly by the MPEG-2 decoder.Firstly, this thesis analyzes the structure of MPEG-2 TransportStream system layer, the program specific information, the principle ofthe multiplexer and the characteristics of the digital signal processorTMS320C6201. Secondly, this thesis expatiates on the design scheme andthe implement of the Multiplexing System based on the Digital SignalProcessor.
