Portable Network Fault Tester Hardware System Design

Portable network trouble testing instrument is used by testing engineers fornetwork maintenance, and is one of network trouble testing sets that are the mostrequisite and useful. It can test many network instruments, and has an integrativeproject to spot network testing. So it has developed step by step and become the maintool in testing and maintenance of spot network of modern industry.Based on the project "portable network trouble testing instrument", which istaken on by the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, thisdissertation focuses on the hardware design of portable network trouble testinginstrument, depicts the concepts of network management and embedded systemdesign, analyzes the key techniques in the research and development of networktrouble testing instrument, and presents the solutions of the key techniques. It alsopresents the system structures of the hardware and software, and discusses in detailhow the design of the system structures comes true. Finally, with respect to theproblems in debugging and testing process, some analysis and the practical solutionsare given in the dissertation.The main contributions of the dissertation include:1. Demonstrates the working process of portable network trouble testing instrument and the functions of its circuits, and also depicts the necessity of network management and network trouble testing.2. With a view to the theory of embedded system, this dissertation discusses in detail the realization of portable network trouble testing instrument, which based on embedded linux. It also discusses in detail some key techniques such as the design of embedded microprocessor and linux operating system.3. Discusses the software design of network trouble testing instrument based on embedded linux, and describes in detail the realization of different modules.
