Bluetooth Manager, Based On Symbianos Bluetooth Resource Management Software

As an ultimate development trend in mobile phone, SmartPhone has been playing a more and more important role in Mobile Communication Market. Among Many new products, the SmartPhone based on Symbian Operation System by NOKIA Company has been look upon the most promising one by consensus. Bluetooth technology, which has been requisites for SmartPhone, finds its perfect virtue. The author successfully combines the two technologies into useful software in Symbian OS, named BTMan, which can manage a large amount of Bluetooth devices and configurate their service. In this paper, we firstly give a detailed introduction for the Bluetooth Specification and its basic application profile including SDP OBEX RFCOMM. Then we study the whole loop for application development in Symbian Operation System and focus our mind on the core Bluetooth SDK in order to realize the Bluetooth profiles in Symbian OS. With the help of formal and feasible project plan for BTMan application, we finally implement it! Because BTMan application can satisfy the consumer's desire for wireless data service and accord with the development for mobile communication system, it is no doubt that BTMan should be one of the most popular software in Symbian OS.
