Software developed with OODB undergoes considerable recompiled before they could be used again when the schema of the database had changed. To cope with the schema evolution of ONet System, object component was introduced. The detail design of the object component framework is mainly considered in this paper. As the development of object orient technology, object orient databases are widely used in many fields. They are GIS, IDSS, medical, finance and so on. Now there is a further expanding of OODB product, the vendors not only improve their OODBMS but also they offer other middle layer technology - such as Java Data object. This is the background of ONet system.Firstly, the dissertation writes about the functionality of object oriented database management system. It summarizes the characteristics of an OODBMS. These characteristics include objects, methods, inheritance, class library, durability, query, query optimization, integrity, concurrency, performance and schema modification. In chapter 3, the article gives out the architecture of data schema design base on object component. First of all, it introduces the background of schema evolution. Then it shows the architecture of the data schema design, followed with there key technology of object component, input in the form of object schema diagram, preservation and process with OSchemaML which is derived from XML, and solving the problem of schema evolution of OODB.Chapter 4 is the implementation technology of object component and the detail design of object component framework. To introduce object component, the client runtime library is reconstructed. And based on the object component framework, we have a discussion of other object-oriented programming binding. Finally, the author summarizes the development of ONet system and points out the future direction of the system.
