Research Of COM Realizing Technology Of OODB

OODB is major technology of Database system for combining Object-Oriented technology and Database technology. Although OODB is a new research and development field of Database system and theories related with it are not integrated, OODB has been applied into some fields and obtained good results.The probability and expediency for OODB is provided in Microsoft Windows . The Major works for programming OODB include establishing saving structure, achieving reusing technology and query management. The purpose of reusing technology is programming all kinds of programs that can call OODB anywhere. At the same time, it is easy and independent to program and modify the OODB programs.Firstly, this paper introduces the basic conceptions of OODB. Secondly, an idea of saving data of OODB is proposed as follows: saving data relies on Memory Management and File Management of Windows, a Database corresponds to a system path; an Object corresponds to a File; an Instance corresponds to a Record of File. Thirdly, the advantage and method of component reusing technology is introduced: the advantage of using COM component, the establishing method and registering method of COM component, embodying and gathering method of COM component. The structure, peculiarity and service of DCOM and COM+ is introduced in this paper too. Finally, a OODB system is implemented through using oriented object method and tested by a special example. Result shows the OODB based Microsoft Windows becomes more currency by using component resuing technology and internal detail of calling methods is totally hidden. We can program all kinds of programs that can call OODB anywhere.
