With the development of science technology and progress of society, video,audio and data is major ways insteading of audio ways gradually in communications. video transmission and video surveillance become more and more important, video transmission system has been applied to any fields such as expressway, traffic management, electronic-policeman, industrial surveillance, etc.Video surveillance has the characteristics of intuitionistic, convenient, and abundant information, Go with the development of electronics and optical fiber communication technologies, and with the quantity of information transmitted becomes more and more large, the video surveillance system also evolution from single channel to multichannel, the techniques changes from analog to digital. This subject comes from Chengdu Shuguang Optical Fiber Network Co.,Ltd—16-channel digital video optical fiber transceiver. Our research work of this thesis is focused on 16-channel digital video and 4-channel dual direction data.This thesis adopts serial digital video transmission mode to implement 16-channel digital video signals and 4-channel dual direction data transmit by single optical fiber, bases on TDM(Time-Division Multiplexing) and WDM(Wavelength-Division Multiplexing) theories. It introduces the development and application of digital video optical fiber transceiver. Then analyzes the optical transmitter, receiver briefly, and discusses the TDM, WDM and system synchronization technologies used in our system. Finally, it shows us the design of our 16-channel digital video optical fiber transceiver, including the whole design idea, partial designs, theory analysis, circuit design, CPLD(Complex Program Logic Device)'s S/W control and the whole system test. The final test result indicates system performance achieves similar products standard in the market. Because we don't make use of CWDM technique widely adopted in the similar products, system cost will cut down 30%, ratio of performance and cost is very high. It is estimated that the product will be apply widely in the expressway and city video surveillance, etc.
