Computer Engineering Document Management System

Along with CAD/CAM technology in enterprise's wide application day by day, the enterprise gradually accumulated massive technical data. So are the blueprints, documents, and other electronic chart file. These are enterprise products'main design information, and they are the the foundation for product data management (PDM). however, the management and maintenance for these electronic materials have taken the massive space and and human resources. Moreover, design material has lower availability, it is avoidable to duplicate the designs. people earnestly hope to to manage them with the aid of the software e, which can conveniently query the material. The above CAD question has exposed the contradiction between development of CAD and backwardness of data management method. The solution is to use prooduct data management. The present paper is to solve the above questions. It applies PDM the technology, establishes electronic document system based on the PDM . This paper described the development, process, function and their characteristic of engineering document management system based on the situation of blueprint management, comprehensively analyzed their demand, proposed the overall design, the realization methods. It used UML to carriy on the system analysis and design specifically using UML, and used the VB development kit and ADO to visit the ACCESS database. Besides the blueprint establishment, the paper had also considered the system security problem, it established the effective user authentication and privilege management function module. The system had been practically running on real enviorment, it had achieved expected design goal.
