The widespread application of the Internet makes people hope can connect to the Internet with a more flexible way, and be free from the restrict of the time and space. The traditional technique of IP can't satisfy this kind of need, but Mobile IP technique is the produce can adapt exactly this kind of need. Mobile IP is a kind of simple and expansive solution providing the ability of roaming around the global Internet. It makes mobile nodes can keep their current connect to a correspondence node while they are switching access point. It provides a kind IP route mechanism that makes mobile node connect to any links with a permanent IP address. However, the basic Mobile IP is the protocol that only supports mobile node move around wide area at a low speed. In actual application, it usually will produce some problems. According to the existing IETF Mobile IP norm, when mobile nodes stay at a foreign network that is far away from the home network of mobile node, it will produce a serious time delay of registration while switching foreign agents. Thus it will cause the serious packet loss and the communications throughputs to descend. At the same time, it will cause a great deal of registration message to deliver in the backbone network, consume a great deal of bandwidth resources and computing resources of backbone network. We will study these problems systematically and will put forward a optimized solution that can lower the registration time delay, decrease the packet loss due to the handover, lower the network load because of switching and so on. At first, the thesis went deeply in to study the basic Mobile IP protocol that IETF have put forward. At the same time, the thesis was careful to inquiry into its work mechanism and technique details. Then the thesis elaborated the basic reason of above-mentioned problem. The thesis also clarifies the thoughts of research and setting up the system of distributed mobile management. On the basis of the above statements, the main principle and mechanism of a solution of IP mobility on a specific applied network topology has been well studied. We put forward an applied model of Mobile IP and improved the shortage of the basic Mobile IP. It mainly carried on from the following aspects: 1) The improvement research of the mobile management. On the basis of the analyzing the current mobile management characteristic of the basic Mobile IP and the aiming at the concrete network topology, the thesis puts forward a kind of solution of distributed mobile management. Its primary way of thinking is: Lead the mobile management function that home agent have into all of the foreign agent in a foreign network and divide the registration process into two kinds: the full registration and localized registration. It can lower the registration time delay consumedly, reduce the data packet loss and lessen registration overhead by handling registration message as closer as possible. 2) According to the concrete network topology, the thesis presents a movement detection method based on NAI of mobile agents. The thesis also presents a certification mechanism based on static security association and a security mechanism based on preconfigured IP addresses. At the same time, we optimize the establishment method of the data path, remove inconsistent status in the process of creating the data path and raise the reliability of the data transmission. 3) The thesis explores the protocol that is used for exchanging the location information of foreign agent in the concrete tree form network structure and the method that is used for selecting the switching foreign agent in localized registration. 4) An experimental prototype of the distributed mobile management test system is realized. It possesses integrated structure and functions. The system can satisfy the functional requirements such as lower registration delay, lower packet loss rate and smaller registration overhead in backbone network. By analyzing and testing the test system in this thesis, it proves the practicability and rationality of the theory forward that this thesis has put. This thesis establishes a basic framework of system of certain...
