Cable Tv Network, Snmp-based Management System Design And Application

At present , the CATV(Cable TV) network is becoming more and morebig and complex, the requirement of the customers is increasing quickly.The tasks of the CATV network are not only the transmission of the TVprograms but also the transmission of data and sound. So the reliability ismore important to modern CATV network. Therefore , how to improve themanagement of the CATV network becomes the problem that the devicemanufacturers must face.This article introduces the CATV network management system. Thissystem includes four parts: Server PC , Communication Controller, modemand responder. This system completes the following functions:*Collect the working status of the transmission devices*Analyze the working status and give warning when the data is not in the normal range*Adjust the parameters of the network*creating all kinds of report forms etc.The transmission devices include : amplifier ,optical working station, opticalemitter, optical receiver etc. The system can collect many parameters of thedevice , for example voltage, current ,temperature, electric level etc. In a word ,the CATV network management system is a very complexsystem and it will become very important to improve the quality of the HFC network.
