This paper discusses how to encrypt the MPEG2 TS stream of theDVB-T digital image wireless surveillance system. The imagesurveillance system is a real-time image and sound wireless transmissionsystem which realizes checking long-range locale by real-timetransmitting and receiving digital image signal. For the secrecy of theinformation, the real-time MPEG2 image encryption and decryptionsystems are designed mainly based on the FPGA. The system is composedof two modules, one is the encryption and decryption algorithm modulewhich completes the encryption and decryption of the data stream basedon FPGA, and the main algorithm adopted is the DES(Data EncryptionStandard).The other one is the key management module which completesthe generation,management,control,import of the key.This paper first introduces the basic knowledge of the cryptologyand some typical encryption algorithm. Then it introduces the DVB-Tstandard and the structure of the digital image surveillance system. Thenthe design and realization of the image encryption device is given. Withthese done, the encryption algorithm simulation and realization in FPGAis presented. Finally, the circuit board is designed, the software andhardware debugging is performed.The following work are done by the author:1. Consulting relevant books and information, getting the basic knowledge of the cryptology and the DVB standard.2. Designing the main structure of the project according to the requirement.3. Completing and simulating the main program in FPGA and the control and drive program.4. Using PROTEL to generate schematic and PCB layout, debugging the software and hardware and accomplishing the joint-debug on the whole system.
