At present,MPEG2 has become the most prevalent coding technique,which is mainly used for the transmission of speech data and viewdata.Due to the classification characteristic of MPEG2,the digital television broadcast systems which adopt MPEG2 can cover both area has fine receiving condition and area has poor receiving condition at the same time,they also have strong interference killing feature.However, in contrast to the abundant E1 resources of our country, there are few MPEG2 encoders have E1 interface currently.Therefore,if most MPEG2 encoders have E1 interface for transmission,it will greatly expand the application of MPEG2. This thesis deeply analyzes the characteristics of MPEG2 and E1,designs the E1 interfaces based on MPEG2 ,include the transmit side interface and receive side interface. The transmit side interface receives the datas from MPEG2 encoders and control signals from other sides,through the processing of the EP1K50 FPGA,these datas and signals combine to become a serial data, the DS2155 single-chip transceiver converts the serial data into E1 waveform. The receive side interface receives the E1 waveform,and converts it into parallel datas.Thus these two interfaces accomplish the bidirection communication between MPEG2 datas stream and E1 datas stream. They can be used for satellite communication ,optical fiber communication,e.t.c.
