J2ee E-learning Platform-based Design And Realization

Nowadays e-learning is playing an important role in remote education, group training and tertiary education. Especially in tertiary education, e-learning is being highly valued due to several reasons such as the expansion of institutions, scattered campuses and the deployment of computerized teaching . The rapid development of campus Internet has provided a good infrastructure for e-learning, and has also pushed the widely applications of e-learning tools and platforms .Based on the teaching aspects and requirement of our university, we develop a J2EE-based platform for network teaching, i.e., ETP. Some basic functions of e-leaming platforms are integrated in the system. These functions include online assignment system, courseware management, message management, and online communications.The paper analyses functional design and technical framework of ETP, introduces realization in detail and summarizes some key technology of ETP.Now ETP has been used in teaching practice for two years. It has been proven that it has brought great convenience for teaching and learning crossing campuses in a university.
