The Design And Realization Of Network Teaching Platform Based On MVC And Struts Framework

Distance education, which was brought up with the development of Internet andeducation informatization, is causing a profound change in education system.Networkteaching platform, the most important factor in the distance education,is a hot topic inmany colleges and educational institutions. In this paper we designed and realized anetwork teaching platform based on MVC and Struts Framework．First of all, analyzed the background and significance of the network teachingplatform researching, pointed out current situation of network teaching platform and itsshortcomings, and then discussed main content and structure of this paper.Secondly, introduced the key theory and technology for this network teachingplatform, including the meaning and architecture of J2EE, the main trends for webprogramming--MVC(Model-View-Controller) model, the development,realizationprocess,advantages and disadvantages of MVC model, the Struts framework, which is atypical framework based on MVC,and other development tools,such asMyEclipse,Tomcat and SQL server.Once again, analysed the education theory basis for this network teaching platform,including distance education theory and learning theory, and analysed the demand for thenetwork teaching platform.Then we made overall and detailed design for this platform tohave a comprehensive grasp of this network teaching platform.Then realized the platformmodularization based on the functional diagram and flow chart. The system databasedesign was introduced.Finally, four subsystems (network classroom, online question&answer, onlinetesting, online homework) of this network teaching platform which is based onMVC,B/S model and Object-Oriented were developed using MyEclipse (added Strutssupporting) as developing tool, Tomcat as server and SQL server as database server.
