Power IC, which is a composite result of power electronics and microelectronics, is developing rapidly in global range. As an important part of power IC, High-Voltage (HV) IC integrats HV components and low voltage control circuits on one chip. And it is based on the technology of high voltage components, high voltage semiconductor manufacture process, and corresponding design methods. The application is exclusive, including smart switch power, regulation circuits, motor-control circuits, display-driving and so on.This project is to design a PDP high voltage driving chip, referring to IC STV76978A which is a product of ST Company.This dissertation introduces the operating principle and system organization of PDP, extracts the scanning driver's circuits and analyses the circuit topology and function. After completing the digital part, many other aspects was also shown, including the structures of HV components, the process that can compact high-voltage and low-voltage devices on one chip. During the design, Cadence CAD tools are used throughout the project.The tapeout of digital control module of the chip is very successful, by 0.6um twin-well, double-poly, double-metal, 5V standard CMOS process. Through test, all the functions work well. We are to tapeout the whole chip as long as HV process is ready. |
