Based On The Snmp Nms Research And Design

This dissertation is about background, structure design and detail design of kernel SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) engine of SNMP network management system which is named FlexSNMP system. It also includes the design of the high-level beans (such as no-ui beans and ui-beans) and distributed beans which are based on the kernel snmp engine. Then it brings forward the exception model and log model of FlexSNMP system. At last, it gives out the future direction of FlexSNMP system.Since SNMP is brought forward by ISO (International Standards organization) in 1980s, the SNMP technology have made greate progress in almost twenty years and widely used in many fields. They are fault management, configuration management, security management, performance management, accounting management. But the research of SNMP management is weakness in our country. This is the background of FlexSNMP system.In the beginning of three chapters, the article describes the development and application of SNMP. It also describes the function of SNMP. Then it explains some basic concetions of SNMP. Such as MIB (Management Information Base), SMI (Stucture and Identification of Management Inforation for TCP/IP-based Internets) ASN.1 syntax and SNMP message format.In chapter 4, the article researches the network management products which are based on SNMP. It also researches two famous open resources SNMP project westhawk and joeSNMP. Then it makes conclusions about these products.In chapter 5, the article brings forward the goals of the framework and security of FlexSNMP system. It also analyses some technology wich will use in FlexSNMP system. Finally, it gives out the framework graph and detail explains every part of the framework graph.In chapter 6, the article describes every part of FlexSNMP system how to detail design. Such as SNMP kernel engine, high-leve beans, distributed beans. It also discusses the key technology about SNMP kernel engine. In security, it discusses the security mechanism about community and the USM model and VACM model.Finally, the author summarizes the development of FlexSNMP system and points out the future direction of the system.
