Water is one of the crusial factors in human living.With industrial development and increasing population, more and more attention is payed to the wastewater treatment processes. In our country, along with the GDP's improvement, the government is ploughing lots of money into the environment protection. Howerver, due to the low automation and high energy cost in the wastewater treatment processes, most wastewater treatment plants are running with low efficiency but high cost. Mud concentrate is one of the most important operational parts. Workers usually use sticks or imported instruments to measure mud level. Yet the cost of imported instruments is much expensive, so it is exigent to develope a low-cost, homemade indicator of mud level.The paper will focus on the research of mud level measurement, and bring forward an intelligent unltrasonic indicator of mud-water interface based on 80C196KB microcomputer, which can not only achieve measuring the mud level but also can provide a convenient user interface. With the application of the indicator, it can be widely used to improve the automation level and reduce the cost of the wasterwater treatment plants in our country.The paper will include five sections:Introductions of the background and meaning of the item;The integrated project of the system;Design of the hardware of the system and discussion of anti-jamming technology;Design of the software of the system and discussion of algorithm of data processing;Introduction of debugging tools.
