A parking guidance system mainly offers guidance and monitoring for cars, which reduces time of searching parking space for drivers. Aiming at the problem of complex distribution of parking space and difficulty of parking, a guidance system for underground parking was carried out to save parking time.The guidance system was mainly composed of detection module, central control unit and communication module. Single-chip microcomputer as the kernel core, a ranging model was achieved based on ultrasonic sensor, so parking detection module was developed. The detection module can communicate with central control unit by RS485 and communication program was compiled. User interface was designed by C# language on a windows platform, so that central control unit could collect data of all detectors and display the remaining parking spaces on LED.The system experiment platform was set up and the test experiment was accomplished. The experiment shows that parking detector can reliably monitor status of the parking space.
