The warehouse is the main platform on which the logistics system is running. It's the place where the cargos spend most time and money in it. The reasonability of the stock system impacts the efficiency and cost of the logistics system directly.Although there are plenty of theories about the design of stock system, the complexity in the application and the independency in the theory make its usage limited. The logistics system is an open system with great complexity. Lots of its factors are related. If we research this system ignoring the relationship, the result will betray the fact.The simulation is a method of experiment. It grew up with the development of computer science. It is an important method of optimization and assisting decision. It reproduced the fact in the computer circumstance by software instead of constructing a real system to be analyzed. Thus, the cycle of design is reduced, the cost of design is debased and the quality of design is enhanced.This paper mostly talks about the usage of simulation method in the storage system design. It also contains the compilation of simulation program which could be used as a tool of assisting decision and system optimization. This paper is divided in four parts: introduction, straight matter, conclusion, reference.The Introduction introduced the source, value and anticipant level of this research. It also contained the new concept and route of this research. In chapter 1 we introduced the research actuality of logistics system simulation in the world. It analyzed the development of this kind of simulation, defined the direction and meaning of our research, too. In chapter 2 we explained the theory and tools used in this paper, including logistics theory, simulation theory, simulation languages etc. In chapter 3 we discussed the first topic: dimensions decision of the warehouse. It contained the construction of simulation model and the compilation of program. Chapter 4 introduced the layout of operation zone in the warehouse. We mainly discussed the arrangement of storage part,the location of process part, the port design of vehicle. And we also designed the simulation system. In chapter 5, we used the simulation method to design and optimize the position management. It settled the problem of position management and picking management system design. In chapter 6, we explained how to install and use this simulation system in order to conduct users to utilize this system.I want to do something to improve our logistics project through my effort. And I do my best to make my research contain something new and useful. Because of the limitation of my knowledge, there must be something not precise.
