User-oriented Information Resources Integration Of Case Studies

While the rapidly development of information technology such as computer and the Internet, the ability of access to information of human being have progressed greatly. The ocean of networked information and thousands of databases provide endless information. But the networked information such as the databases have lots of differences in the format, representation, accessibility and interoperability, all these are becoming a bottleneck for the users to access these information. In the other hand, In the networked environment, the information requirement and retrieval patterns of users have changed a lot, and some new characteristics have emerged. So the importance of information integration is becoming more and more emergence for the information professionals both theory and practically. The author emphasis the idea of information integration whose core idea is realized the information retrieval across platform and databases by application of the new communication technology to satisfied the retrieval requirement of users.The study of user oriented information integration in this paper has the importance both in the information science theory and practice. A lot of new phenomenon has emerged in the field of information science which connected closely with the information technology in the networked environment. At first, the rapidly developments of networked information resources challenges the traditional resources collections theory in the library and information organizations, and this paper studies the more detailed contents of networked information resource includes its definition, characteristic, types completely. Information science should also emphasis the study of the information users in the networked environment, this paper try to analysis the new changes in the requirement and cognitive of users. In one hand the differences in the content and patterns of networked information, in the other hand the new characteristic of requirement and behavior of the users in the networked environment, so the importance of networked information integration becoming more and more clearly. The information integration means to organize the networked information resources by the means of information technology in order to be retrievable and using.The task of information integration is the deeper and more creative effort in the information fundamental theory in the one hand, but also has importance in the field of information professional practice. The libraries and information organizations have more and more emphasis on the networked information resource especially the databases, traditionally, to organize the knowledge and information is the core task of libraries and information institute, to organize the networked information that have lots ofdifferences both in the contents and patterns, to serve the users needs more closely, that is the direction for the future for the libraries and information institutes.Some new methods and theories of the core technologies of information integration such as metadata, Dublin Core, XML, RDF, Ontology, Semantic web have been discussed completely in this paper. Peple have start to organize the networked information from the beginning of the network. From Archie to Gopher at the beginning, from subject heading to search engine after the emerging of world wide web, until the employed the MARC(marchine readable cataloge), all of thess are efforts to intergration of networked information. But the solution of the integration of networked information and to realize the semantic intergratin is in the communication technologies.
