In the paper, based on the application of the 95GHz millimeter-wave interferometer, the millimeter-wave PLL frequency synthesizer is researched.The frequency of 95GHz belongs to a very important atmosphere window to propagation. Because of its high frequency and short wavelength, more and more countries pay attention to it. With the high frequency, it can get great Doppler frequency which be propitious to measure slow velocity. And because of the short wave length, it can realize the miniaturized system and good direction. Because millimeter-wave frequency source is the key component of the system, the developed countries have been locking the technology and embargoing millimeter wave facilities at the very start to our country. So in order to utilize the millimeter-wave frequency source, we must study it by our own struggle. Therefore, the study of millimeter-wave frequency source is very important.The main contribution of the paper is as follows: based on the blueprint of 'fundamental wave being phase-locked and then output harmonic wave', we design the special oscillator for PLL, including a millimeter-wave harmonic VCO and a millimeter-wave harmonic mixer. By this method, the technology difficulty of the millimeter-wave PLL frequency synthesizer is greatly reduced. And now, by two phase-locked loops, we have triumphantly fulfilled the 95GHz millimeter-wave frequency source with high stabilization and precision, and it has been succeed applied to the first 95GHz millimeter-wave interferometer in our country, completely meeting the requirements of the engineering.The main structure of the paper is following:Chapter one is the preface. It briefly point out the source and background of the task, at the same time, it puts forward the target of technology and its application.Chapter two briefly point out the application background and the design project of the millimeter interferometer.In chapter three, based on the theory analysis of the PLL, we point out the design and achievement of millimeter-wave frequency synthesizer, and briefly analyze the result of measure.In chapter four, the application of millimeter-wave frequency synthesizer in engineering is given. At one time, we point out the measure result and application of the millimeter-wave interferometer.Finally, we bring out the improved means and the following employment.The results of the PLL frequency synthesizer is as follow: frequency is 95GHz, the stability of frequency is 1.2×10-6 among the temperature region of -10(C to +45(C , phase noise is below -56dBc/Hz@10kHz, spurious is below -50dBc, and the output power is 10mW.
