In microwave and millimeter wave system, front-end plays a significant role for the whole system performance. Using multichip module (MCM) technology, The theory and design for the two-channel millimeter wave front-end is present in this thesis.Firstly, the millimeter wave and its characteristics, the millimeter wave planar integrated circuits and its development, and the trend of MCM in home and abroad are introduced. Then, the basic theory of MCM is dissertated. LTCC embedded capacitor and resistor are simulated and analyzed. Using LTCC technology, the circuit layout, passive components(including waveguide-to-microstrip transition,3dB rat-race power splitter and IF low pass filter) and bias circuit are disserated. Result from these, The millimeter wave(multichip modules) front-end is successfully designed and measured. |
