The millimeter-wave transceiver front end is an indispensable important part of military and satellite-bone system, and the miniaturization, high integration, high reliability are the important objects of study in microwave and millimeter-wave integrated circuits. LTCC(Low-Temperature Co-fired Ceramic) is a kind of high density package technology of three-dimensional structure, which is the important means to decrease the size of millimeter-wave circuits and improve the system performance. This paper designs and makes an 8mm transcerver with LTCC technology.This thesis firstly gives a brief introduction to the domestic and foreign development and applications of 8mm transceiver. Then the processing technology and its characteristics are introduced. Then the common LTCC transmission-line transition structure has been simulated and studied. A Ka-band microstrip to waveguide transition with LTCC has been designed to largely broaden the transition bandwidth. And the metal via and coplanar transition of LTCC integrated circuits has been studied to solve the transition problem of transmission lines in the modules. After that, according to the basic design theory of coupling filters, this article has designed LTCC IF filter and millimeter-wave filter which has small size and good filtration performance. At last, the paper makes the design plan of 8mm transceiver module, and finish its the production and assembly.For reduce the device number and minimize the area of the module, a common mixer is used in both transmit and receive branch. The whole size of the 8mm transceiver module is 80mm×60mm×10mm. The gain of receiver is 23dB±2dB while the image Rejection of the passband is higher than 23dBc and the noise figure is less than 4dB. When the input power is -5dBm, the launch power is greater than 19dBm with good suppression which is higher than 30dBc, and the flatness of passband is less than 1.5dB.
