GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) is the most important transition from the second generation communication system to the third generation communication system. The system that transmite GPS data by GPRS has the characters of High-speed,Low-cost,IP service and more information. It means that rapid data traffic is the trend of mobile communication. Firstly this thesis explain the frame of GSM and the new part added in GPRS.Secondly the artile present the mobility mangement, the radio interface, and the GPRS protocol architecture. Some simulation models are made which were only used for evaluating GPRS performance of single-slot in former study. In this parper, Two-dimension Markov model is presented ,which takes into account the problem of mutli-slot, sigle-slot with multi-subscriber and the hand-over effect. The dynamic channel resource is allocated to GPRS.we analyse the GPRS performance, such as blocking probability, packet data delay and packet data arrival rate and we draw the conclusion that the Markov model is a valid measure to optimize the GPRS net. In the end this paper introduce the hardware and software of the system in detail. The mobile terminal and managing center and the GPRS net constitute the whole system. The mobile terminal is completed by embedded system. The programme language is VC and C.At last the thesis describes the application in the future.
