Cluster System Centralized Management Platform

Because of the properties of high capability/price rate, scalability and reliability, computer cluster becomes the focus in high performance computing area. How to increase the efficiency, usability and convenience of clusters is a task in high performance computing area. Being an important part of cluster software system, Cluster Management System (CMS) is expected to satisfy those requirements.This paper concerns the researches and realizations of centralized management platform of cluster system, which is supported by the Origin High Performance Computing Corp. At first, we expound the concepts of CMS, and point out the functionalities the CMS need to provide. Then, we research the requirements of single system image to CMS. Two models, C/S model and B/S model, are used to implement the CMS, which we named as OCMS(Origin CMS).In the design and realization of OCMS based on C/S model, we design the architecture of two layered CMS named Client/ServerS. To realize the communication between different modules, we design a message mechanism. At last, aiming at the limitation of two-layered structure, we design a new three-layered architecture of CMS named ClientS/Server/ServerS.With the applications of B/S model in network technology, the advantage of this model relative to C/S module is very prominent, such as remote management. We bring forward the architecture of CMS based on B/S modle. We name it BrowserS/Server/ServerS. Then we realize the OCMS system based on this new architecture.
