Condition monitoring is an effective strategy for rotating machinery. Data acquisition is very important in the whole condition monitoring system. The paper concerns the design method for a Data Acquisition (DAQ) card.Digital Signal Processor (DSP) was used as the microcontroller of the DAQ card, and synchronous A/D converters were used to collect synchronous signals. The digital logics of the card are integrated into a Complex Programmable Logic Device (CPLD). which is designed with Verilog Hardware Description Language. Through PCI interface and dual port SRAM, host accessed data from the card. The card's circuit schematic diagram and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) were completion in the paper. Software modules including rotating speed measuring, analog and digital signals acquisition are developed. This DAQ card's driver is developed both on the Linux OS and Windows OS. At the end of the paper, the real tested results are presented.
