Compared with traditional virtual reality system using HMD and sensor glove, VR interaction system based video input reduces the touch between people and devices, thus appears widely in amusement, education field and so on. The composition and real-time interaction between video input and virtual environment are still most important problems. This paper has put forward some solutions and put them into practice-developing a virtual catching fish system.This paper analyses two main circles in this kind of system -flow of 3D application and video flow and makes detailed design. We make use of texture to add the video into virtual environment and make real-time interaction possible. Through using alpha channel of texture pixel, choosing video content and collision detecting are greatly simplified. In order to realize real-time interaction, virtual fish's movement is simulated and collision detection method is designed. To simulating undersea environment, several rendering techniques are used to produce effects of light and shadow.Some problems of design and realization of VR interaction system based video input have been resolved via the research of the thesis. It provides the reference and expands the thinking for more advanced and extensive researches.
