Recently, Virtual Reality, which has been one of the most hottest technologies has get more and more attention in the science field and engineering field. It has been widely used in the fields of architecture, military affairs, medical treatment, entertainment and so on. Virtual walking-through technology is an important part of virtual reality technology, as well as is the integrity application of virtual reality technology. Now, a large number of institutions and famous universities are all engaging in VR technology. But, according to recent researching, man-machine mutual control is a difficulty in the virtual walking-through system. The virtual 3D biology laboratory system with the function of 3D walking-through and mutual control between man and computer has been built in this paper.Firstly, The 3D virtual biology lab scene is built using texture maping, lighting and material setting on in the paper. Secondly, because OpenGL only can draw some simple pictures, a few of complicated models are built using the software of 3DS MAX,for meeting the need of some especial complicated lab models. And the models with 3DS format are imported to 3D scene, and draw in the walking-through system to consummate the system. Then, walking through in the scene and transforming the view points has been realized to make the observer browse the whole experiment system with the changing view points. And collision detecting function during user walking through in the virtual system has been accomplished. At Last, the mutual control by keyboard and mouse in the 3D models scene is accomplished in the paper. It is realized that man-machine mutual control is based on data driving. The data form a outside file are imported to control the models, and are backup to another files for research later.Comparing with other virtual walking-through systems, the system in the paper is more friendly and better to meet the need of the users in the scene walking-through and view point transforming. Introducing the arithmetic of collision detecting in this paper is more simple and convenient, saving the system resource and the time of the computer running, it is vital factual significance to long-distance control the virtual system, by making use of data to realize the man-machine mutual function between the models in the scene. It is great helpful to observing and research the experiment dates later, by importing file date real-time.
