Both the massive potential market and broad application field of WfMS, which is a system software that defines ,creates and manages the execution of workflow, has drawn more and more attention from institution for scientific research and software corporations all over the world. This paper studies the correlative realization technology of the distributed workflow management system (DWfMS) based on the platform of J2EE.In this paper, research actualities of domestic and overseas DWfMS are analysed at first. The paper puts forward a new method of workflow modelling based on activitity decomposition and ECA rules. On the basis of studying the workflow model provided by WfMC, this paper designs the framework of DWfMS, partitions the function of each module and studies the distributed tactic of workflow engine. Further more this paper realizes the prototype of DWfMS based on studying the platform of J2EE. At last, this paper studies the integration of distributed workflow management system and other enterprise information systems, for example,OA. 1 wish research of such task will give guidance to the following research of distributed workflow management system.
